Education

Bent Pines Farm offers education programs that are not typically part of the education provided by horse trainers or riding instructors. We specialize in filling the gap for adult amateur riders who want more knowledge about caring for and riding their horses.

First Aid

Bent Pines Farm partnered with Equine First-Aid International to bring their outstanding first aid and disaster preparedness courses to the United States. We offer 8-hour in-person clinics, covering levels 1 and 2 or 4-hour zoom courses, covering one level. We also offer level 3 and first-aid/handling for first responders as both in-person or Zoom courses. We are now also offer instructor training if you are a horse professional who would like to teach first aid.

Biomechanics

Rider Biomechanics

We currently offer 4-hour and 8-hour biomechanics clinics. Regardless of discipline, riders will receive an evaluation of their riding position, assistance in improving the stability of their positions, and education in how the use of their bodies effects the movements of their horses.

Saddle Fit

We currently offer both a 4-hour Zoom course and an 8-hour in-person course. Zoom courses are available both on request and at scheduled times throughout the year. In-person courses are booked on demand at a host facility who can provide 2 easy to handle horses, 4 saddles of varying type and fit, and adequate seating for taking notes during classroom portions of the day.
